One Mans Opinion - 9/30/2010
By Dewaine Shoulders

I just read a story from the AP (from 9/29) and the first thing that popped into my head was Palin Derangement Syndrome.

According to the AP (first reported in The Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman), Sarah Palin was granted a restraining order against a Pennsylvania man accused of stalking and threatening her.

Alaska Magistrate Judge Colleen Ray issued a 20-day protective order Monday against 18-year-old Shawn R. Christy, finding probable cause to believe he had stalked Sarah Palin.

Now, here's the details: Sarah Palin and her attorney claimed Christy made 'implied threats' through phone and written messages. He allegedly told Ms. Palin to 'watch her back;' saying 'he was buying a one-way ticket to Alaska and sending a receipt for a gun purchase.'

Shawn Christy was ordered to have no contact with Palin's family and to stay a mile away from her home.

Well, it's official now!

Sarah Palin is a threat to the loony left, and now some of them are beginning to act out their fears and directly threaten her. The lunatics on the left are afraid of what Sarah Palin represents... The end of their Socialist Utopia plans!

She hasn't even announces that she will run for president in 2012, and yet they (the Leftie Idiot Brigade Encouraging Repeal of American Liberties Soon- a.k.a. LIBERALS) are still targeting her with lies and innuendos... And now the first (reported) threat against her physically.

Just as an aside, I have read postings from some on the left that wished she had died in the plane crash when Senator Stevens died not long ago. Some even hoped she'd be mauled and eaten by grizzly bears. This shows how open-minded and compassionate those on the left really are.

Honestly, I'm surprised that it's taken this long for some dipwad on the left to make an actual, honest-to-goodness threat against her life. Maybe some of them are smarter than that? Maybe some of them won't directly threaten her, but will act out if they ever get the chance?

And that scares me!

As the 2012 presidential race begins, and if Sarah Palin does decide to run, she'll then have Secret Service agents guarding her. As of now, I think she needs bodyguards because someone on the left may actually decide to carry out some plan to eliminate her. And God forbid they do!

The left not only has PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome) but PED (Palin Elimination Disorder).

Will this be a factor for any decision she makes regarding a run for the White House? It very well could be. But if I know Sarah Palin, she'll not retreat, she'll just reload!

But that's just my opinion, I could be right!

Okay, I know that there seems to be a bit of confusion out there as to what the term 'grass roots' actually means.

By definition, grass roots means: the rural and agricultural population of a country; what is basic or fundamental (Websters Dictionary).

So, with that in mind, lets talk about the grass roots movement in America; i.e. the Tea Party.

These are everyday mom and pop Americans who are suddenly finding themselves thrust into the political debate over such things as higher taxes; smaller, more responsible government; and of course, the fight against the status quo that permeates the body politic.

I am one of those Tea Party Patriots. I am against the fat-cat politicians in Washington D.C. (and even in my own state of KY) that thinks they can go against the will of the people time and again. We are their bosses - not the other way around!

If these spineless jellyfish politicians worked anywhere else, they would be fired the first week on the job for incompetence. In Washington, and the state houses all across the fruited plain, they are not only continually employed, but they can give themselves raises... While many of us are in the unemployment line.

Having said all of that, this isn't a Democrat vs. Republican problem. Both parties are to blame for the mess this country currently faces. And that's because both parties have Progressives within their ranks. You know who they are. The big-spending fat-cats that talk about how we need to tighten our belts while they expand theirs. The ones that think they know how best to run OUR lives! The ones that constantly pour more taxes and regulations upon us like it were boiling oil - And we were trying to scale the walls of their castle.

Grass roots organizations are much like those that would scale the walls of that proverbial castle. To challenge those in power; to change things for the betterment of all concerned. They are modern-day revolutionaries.

And much like our founding fathers, they are fighting a battle that seems almost impossible, yet can be won.

Like the little train that said, "I think I can, I think I can," the grass roots organizations are going up that steep mountain. They are standing up against those in power (on the left and right) and slowly prevailing. There is a lot of mountain to climb yet, but I think we can, I think we can!

Organizations like Organize4Palin, Teens4Palin, Palin Twibe, Vets4Palin, Palin Promotions, etc. are grass roots organizations! They are everyday people that are tired of the status quo. They are tired of the business-as-usual attitudes that are killing this nation.

There are many that think that these and other grass roots organizations are detrimental to the GOP. Maybe they are, but is that really such a bad thing?

The GOP over the last few years strayed from their path. The Conservative Movement was to have brought limited government, lower taxes, and expanded liberties to all. The progressives in both parties have done everything they can to raise taxes, expand government, and spend us into bankruptcy. And all the while, our civil liberties have been slowly eroding.

So if the GOP wishes to be with the people, they had better listen to what the people want. After all, We the People are Americans, and also the politicians bosses. If they cannot do the job, then they should be fired and new employees hired in their place. That is how it was designed by our founding fathers. It's the lawyers and career politicians that have ruined this country and caused the grass roots organizations to spring up in the first place.

Sarah Palin says that if someone doesn't step-up and bring forward sound policies that she may run. I know for a fact that many of the grass roots organizations will back her. Common sense solutions is what the country needs now. Not more taxes, regulations and spending like there's no tomorrow. And if the GOP and the DNC can't get the progressives out of their parties, then it's up to us, the grass roots of America, to do so for them!

I know we can, I know we can!

But that's just my opinion, I could be right!

Could it be? We might just have two defeated incumbents running as 'write-in' candidates in November?

As if Alaska's Lisa Murkowski wasn't enough, Michael Castle says he isn't ruling out the possibility to run as a write-in on the November ballot in Delaware. He has until Sept. 30th to decide, but he may decide not to do so. Why, you ask?

Well, the possibility that he would split the democratic ticket and lose by an even larger number than in the primary might have a little something to do with it. And he may want to save face for another run next time... Or perhaps for another State Office. Maybe?

Let's face it, the ruling elitists that think they are entitled to their positions are falling fast all over America. Thanks to the Tea Party and Sarah Palin, these Progressive Republicans (the so-called moderates) are fighting for their political lives... And losing for the most part. And like their Democratic counterparts, they are all now like the proverbial boxer... On the ropes and about to go down for the count!

Perhaps when Murkowski splits the ticket with both the Libertarian and the Democratic candidates, ending any chance of a win for them - and insuring a Joe Miller victory - the Progressives in BOTH parties might have to change their tactics. The status quo isn't going to be a viable political choice for either party anymore. The Tea Party is fast becoming the new GOP, and the old GOP is fast becoming mired in their own muck, so to speak.

The GOP has allowed Murkowski to retain her seat on the Energy Committee for now, but when she loses to Miller (AGAIN!) she'll be booted to the curb. And good riddance to bad rubbish!

And as for Castle, well, I believe his best bet would be to bow out gracefully, endorse Christine O'Donnell and save as much face as possible. Who knows, he might decide to run for another office, and he may need O'Donnell's endorsement down the road... Stranger things in life have happened!

So, on this first day of Fall, there's going to be a change in the weather, and a change in Washington D.C. Election Day is going to be verrrrrrrrrrry interesting indeed!

But that's just my opinion, I could be right?

If the Right Nation Straw Poll is any indication, then we already have a front-runner for the 2012 Republican Presidential Campaign. The poll (an unscientific poll, mind you) was taken Saturday (9/18) in a suburb of Chicago, IL.
Here are the results of the poll -

1. Sarah Palin – 323 votes (19.1%)
2. Chris Christie – 274 votes (16.2%)
3. Newt Gingrich – 227 votes (13.4%)
4. Herman Cain – 201 votes (11.9%)
5. Mitt Romney – 190 votes (11.2%)
6. Mike Huckabee – 156 votes (9.2%)
7. Ron Paul – 78 votes (4.6%)
8. Mitch Daniels – 76 votes (4.5%)
9. Tim Pawlenty – 68 votes (4.0%)
10. Mike Pence – 45 votes (2.7%)
11. Rudy Giuliani – 33 votes (1.9%)
12. Haley Barbour – 22 votes (1.3%)

But there again, this past Saturday (9/18) the Values Voters Summit in Washington held its own straw poll, and this was the results -

Presidential Candidate Responses

Mike Pence - 24% (170 votes)
Mike Huckabee - 22% (159)
Mitt Romney - 13% (93)
Newt Gingrich - 10% (72)
Sarah Palin - 7% (51)
Rick Santorum - 5% (39)
Jim DeMint - 5% (38)
Bobby Jindal - 2% (15)
Mitch Daniels - 2% (13)
Chris Christie - 11 2% (11)
John Thune - 2% (11)
Bob McDonnell - 1% (10)
Marco Rubio - 1% (10)
Paul Ryan 1% (7)
Haley Barbour - 1% (6)
Ron Paul 1% (5)
Jan Brewer - 0% (1)
Undecided - 2% (12)

Vice Presidential Candidate Responses for 2010:

Mike Pence - 16% (119)
Sarah Palin - 15% (112)
Rick Santorum 10% (75)
Paul Ryan - 7% (51)
Jim DeMint - 6% (45)
Mike Huckabee - 6% (43)
Marco Rubio - 6% (43)
Bobby Jindal - 5% (36)
Bob McDonnell - 4% (31)
Chris Christie - 3% (25)
Mitt Romney - 3% (25)
Newt Gingrich - 3% (24)
Jan Brewer 3% (20)
John Thune - 2% (15)
Mitch Daniels - 1% (10)
Haley Barbour - 1% (6)
Ron Paul - 1% (5)
Undecided - 5% (38)

So what does this mean?

It means the field is still wide open for a front-runner, but it also means that Sarah Palin will most likely run for president; and have a strong chance of winning! I don't know about anyone else, but of the ones listed in the aforementioned straw polls, only a couple have any chance of competing with her.

Both Chris Christie or Newt Gingrich would make excellent vice-presidential choices, or even someone like Michelle Bachmann (although not on the list), but Sarah Palin would be the candidate I would love to see heading the ticket.

None of the others have gone through what Sarah Palin has been put through by the left, so none of them are worthy of my attention. Especially Romney and Huckabee. Don't get me wrong, I like Mike Huckabee... But he should stay on Fox and continue doing his show. As far as Romney, he treated Massachusetts to Romneycare, and the state is not doing well with it from what I have heard. Even though Romney is a smart man, he's not conservative enough for my tastes. Romney acts like a progressive to me, and he's not someone I'd like to see running the country!

But there again, if it were a race between Romney and Obama, I'd hold my nose and vote for the lesser of two evils.

There is still a lot of time between now and when the campaigns begin in earnest. A lot of things can happen in that time. But the more she's out there - and the more the left attacks her - the more people will be looking at Sarah Palin as a viable candidate. After suffering the slings and arrows of the lefts relentless attack on her name and character, Sarah Palin has been vetted like no other candidate in modern times. And she's still leading the charge for everyday Americans to take back the country from the lunatic left.

But that's just my opinion, I could be right!

One Mans Opinion - 9/17/2010
By Dewaine Shoulders

Well, it's Constitution Day. Considering the fact that the current administration is using it for toilet paper, I thought it was fitting to speak of the next presidential elections in 2012.

The Mayan Calender predicts that 12/21/12 will be the end of the world to some people. To me, it marks the beginning of a new era; a new age of possibilities. And in that mindset, allow me to talk about my favorite potential candidate...

When it comes to Sarah Palin, some people shrug while some grimace. Then there are those of us who sit up and pay attention. Not everyone gets her appeal, nor do they understand what it is she's doing. But some do, and that's a start.

Fox News ran a story about her being in Iowa; pondering if she was setting herself up for a run at the White House... Clearly hinting at that possibility.

In the story, taken from the AP, it says:
'DES MOINES, Iowa -- Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is on a roll: Her political endorsements have helped propel upstart Republican contenders to victory in recent primaries, her cable TV show makes its debut in November, and now she's off to Iowa, a state that has made and broken its share of presidential campaigns.

The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate will be the big draw at Friday's Reagan Dinner in Des Moines, the Iowa Republican Party's biggest fundraiser, and the question that will be on everyone's mind is whether she'll run for president in 2012.

Iowa, home to the nation's leadoff presidential caucuses, can be tough terrain for celebrity candidates. Those who try to ride their fame to victory in Iowa without organizing a grass-roots campaign often find themselves on the outs.

Palin is far from alone in taking early steps to court Iowa activists. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has made multiple trips to the state, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty has put a staff member in Iowa and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania all have visits in the works.'

It would seem that she is testing the waters, just like the others mentioned in the article. But, if Sarah Palin runs, she will more than likely have the backing of the Tea Party, and most religious conservatives. But she would need to broaden her appeal to 'everyday Americans.'

Given her current appeal, Sarah Palin needs to spread her message to that broader audience, showing them that she isn't the Tina Fey version they have seen on TV, nor the woman portrayed by the mainstream media. She needs to strengthen her message and image as a woman that knows how to fix what's wrong in America and also show how to bring all parties together to move America forward.

I say the time is right for her to make a go of it. After all, 2012 is the beginning of new possibilities. But in order for her to have a shot at winning, she needs to become the next Ronald Reagan... And I truly believe that she is fast becoming that kind of leader.

She clearly has an advantage at the moment, and she could use that to get the upper hand on any potential candidates that choose to run for president. And considering some of the potential candidates, she could easily end up as the front-runner.

But the question remains: Can she beat Obama?

YES SHE CAN!

But that's just my opinion, I could be right!

A very special email I just had to share.

1947 - Probably one of the best emails of the year!!!

The year is 1947

Some of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, a little over 60 years ago, witnesses claim that an unidentified flying object (UFO) with five aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and mule ranch just outside Roswell, New Mexico . This is a well known incident that many say has long been covered up by the U.S. Air Force and other federal agencies and organizations.

However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of April 1948, nine months after that historic day, the following people were born:

Albert A. Gore, Jr..
Hillary Rodham
John F. Kerry
William J. Clinton
Howard Dean
Nancy Pelosi
Dianne Feinstein
Charles E. Schumer
Barbara Boxer

See what happens when aliens breed with sheep and jackasses? I certainly hope this bit of information clears up a lot of things for you. It did for me.

One Mans Opinion - 9/15/2010
By Dewaine Shoulders

Well, another Primary Night has come and gone; and the Tea Party/Sarah Palin-backed candidates did pretty well once again. Not all of them won, mind you, but a couple of key races marked the beginning of many threats to the status quo in Washington D.C.

This year will mark the return of the Constitution! When politicians actually pay attention to what our Founding Fathers envisioned, and what the majority of voters want - instead of what the lawyers, politicians and special-interest lobbyists want.

The Tea Party is bringing much needed change to the Republican Party. The DNC has yet to find voters willing to toss out the Progressives within their party. But on the Republican side, the Progressives - the so-called Moderate Republicans - are in fear for their political lives. Their allegiance to the Progressive Movement will have them standing in an unemployment line soon (hopefully).

Primary results to note:

NY Gov. Race -
Carl Paladino wins. It seems Rick Lazio was kicked to the curb. Paladino, the actual Conservative in the race, handily defeated the RINO!

NY U.S. House - 15th District - Democrat
Charles Rangel wins with 51% of the vote. I had to throw this one in because of who it was. New Yorkers will continue to vote this crook into office even after he's dead or in prison. That tells you a great deal about their loyalty/mentality.

Now onto the big ones -

NH - Senate - GOP
Kelly Ayotte defeated Ovide Lamontagne with a 1.5% advantage. No word as of this writing if Lamontagne will call for a recount. Ayotte, backed by Sarah Palin, will face Democrat Paul Hodes in November.

Delaware Senate Race -
Christine O'Donnell defeated Michael Castle. O'Donnell not only beat the RINO Castle, but got the blessings of Michael Steele and the RNC today! Will Castle also endorse O'Donnell? Hmm? Not likely.

So, here's how I see it:

Sarah Palin and the Tea Party are trying to bring change to the political landscape in Washington D.C. There are many voters in both the Democrat and Republican Parties who are tired of the Hope and Change that Obama and his minions have brought to this country. I have heard too many people that voted for Obama now questioning their votes; saying things like, "I wish I had done more research into Obama." or "I wish I had listened to my Conservative friends."

Buyers remorse is always a terrible thing.

In fact, I was talking to one Democrat in particular just the other day. She asked me if the Tea Party would allow her to come and join them? I said, "Yes they will! If you are truly wanting to save this country from socialism and wish to restore our core beliefs in the Constitution being the Law of the Land, then the Tea Party would welcome you. She, like so many people, has had an epiphany. We all have had our eyes opened to what the politicians have been doing to this country for far too many years... Spending us into bankruptcy and over-regulating our lives. And now, standing at the abyss, they (the Progressives) wish to shoves us all over the edge with more spending and higher taxes.

With the candidates that the Tea Party and Sarah Palin have backed so far, it could also open the door for Sarah Palin to be the actual front-runner in the 2012 race even before she announced her intentions to run (if she indeed does). Clearly not all Tea Party folks are favorable to Sarah Palin... At the moment, at least. But if she does run, I think most will back her in the primaries and the general election.

Considering who we have in office now, it will be just like Ronald Reagan when he defeated Jimmy Carter 30 years ago. Sarah Palin may very well be this generations Ronald Reagan. And the Republican Party needs someone like Sarah Palin to energize it. And Sarah Palin could lead this country out of the mess this administration has gotten us into!

But that's just my opinion, I could be right!

One Mans Opinion - Sept. 12, 2010
By Dewaine Shoulders

Well, to preface this article, I must look to a story from the recent past.

(This article was published June 18, 2007 by Kimberly West)

After defeating their rivals in Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement, Muslim extremists are focusing their attacks on Christians in Gaza City. Christians in Gaza City have issued an appeal to the international community and a plea for protection against the increased attacks by Muslim extremists.

Father Manuel Musallem, head of Gaza's Latin church, told the AP that Muslims have ransacked, burned and looted a school and convent that are part of the Gaza Strip's small Romany Catholic community. He told the AP that crosses were broken, damage was done to a statue of Jesus, and at the Rosary Sister School and nearby convent, prayer books were burned.

Gunmen used the roof of the school during the fighting, and the convent was "desecrated," Mussalem told the AP.

Father Musalam additionally told The Jerusalem Post that the Muslim gunmen used rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) to blow through the doors of the church and school, before burning Bibles and destroying every cross they could get their hands on.

Catholic Online reports that the heads of Christian churches in the Holy Land have urged both sides to put aside their weapons, noting that the infighting diverted international attention from the national goal of Palestinian independence.

*****

So, it's okay for the Muslims to burn the Bible, but how dare anyone burn the Quran? Isn't that being a bit hypocritical?

According to Fox News on 9/11, the Rev. Terry Jones said the book-burning "is not going to happen."

I agree that it shouldn't happen, and should never have been brought up. But I also think that the hypocritical Muslims have much to answer for. I know that the Muslims consider The Quran the sacred word of God and insist it be treated with the utmost respect, but shouldn't the same respect be given to all religions and their holy books?

The Muslims sure do like to destroy churches, synagogues and temples, but don't mess with their mosques! They can burn Bibles, but don't burn their Quran! What a hypocritical bunch they are!

Yesterday being the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on America, the Muslims were very vocal in their distaste for the planned Quran burning. Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, speaking in the Gaza Strip, said to a crowd of tens of thousands of Muslim faithful that they had come "to respond to this criminal (Rev. Terry Jones), this liar, this crazy priest who reflects a crazy Western attitude toward Islam and the Muslim nation. We came to say, the Quran is our constitution, we are committed to God and his holy book," he said to those holding the texts in their hands at a stadium in the northern town of Beit Lahiya. "God willing, should they try to carry out their crime against the Koran, God will tear their state apart and they will become God's lesson to anyone who tries to desecrate the holy book."

Did Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh just happen to forget what they (Hamas) did to the Catholic church and the Bible just three years ago? How convenient... And how hypocritical!

Many [but not all] of the followers of Islam are all about hypocrisy and threats? After all, isn't that what the so-called 'religion of peace' does? Threaten and attack; behead and burn; kill and maim innocent people in the name of their god? What a peaceful religion... Yeah right!

Islam may be a religion, but nothing about it is peaceful. It spreads fear in its wake. And I, for one, think the hypocritical religion is a cult! And those that act in violence to spread it are demons from hell! The first part of the Quran actually is a book of peace, but the latter portion is when Mohammad lost his peaceful ways and begins preaching hatred and fear; to force people to convert to Islam or die! And that doesn't sound like something worth defending to me. It sounds like something that should be condemned. Any religion that subjugates women, treating them as one would treat an animal, isn't much of a religion to me.

Any religion that has to resort to bombings, stonings, or any kind of violence toward other religions (and to many within it's own religion) is nothing more than a cult! And that makes them like the Moonies to me... Or the Branch Davidians, or Scientology. Not true religions like Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism or Hinduism.

Their version of Islam could be considered the acts of savages straight out of 4 B.C.

If Islam is a religion of peace, then they should begin practicing what they preach. The good Muslims that practice the peaceful brand of Islam, and do not wish their religion perverted, should rise up and say, "Enough! No More!" They should be vocal in their condemnation of this continuing cycle of violence against anyone that doesn't go along with the radical version of Islam. But until they do, their religion will be nothing more than a cult to me.

Prove to me that Islam is a religion of peace. Until then, I'll continue to condemn it as a cult of hate and violence!

But that's just my opinion, I could be right!

One Mans Opinion 9/11/2010
By Dewaine Shoulders

I apologize for the length of this article, but if you read it, then you'll understand what I'm trying to convey. The following is a personal journal of sorts. It will give you some insight as to why I believe what I do.

They always say you remember exactly where you were when something important - or something terrible - happens.

In one of my earliest memories (I was three years old) I was sitting in the living room floor playing while my mother was doing laundry and ironing. I remember watching her as she cried about something that was on the TV. I looked at the TV and that's when I learned that John F. Kennedy had been assassinated.

And, like that early memory, I remember where I was on 9/11/2001; and I still have that memory etched in my mind as if it were yesterday.

I was married and living in Texarkana, TX. We had just rented a house in Texarkana after living in Dallas for almost two years. Both my wife and I were busily looking for jobs (as we had to quit our jobs in Dallas to move to Texarkana). We had to care for my wife's disabled mother.

So, there I was - just another day in the life. I was sitting in my Ford Explorer, listening to The Bob and Tom Show on the radio, while filling out an application for a job at one of the local hospitals. I was in the middle of the application when Kristie Lee (the news person) broke into the comedy show and announced that a plane had struck one of the towers of the World Trade Center.

My eyes left the application and went to the radio. Utter disbelief was what I remember feeling. How could a plane strike one of those buildings? Was the pilot an idiot? Or maybe drunk... Or worse, somehow the pilot had died in mid-flight and just happened to strike one of the tallest buildings in America?

Then I turned my thoughts back to the application. That was more important than some plane crash anyway. At least until the second plane struck the other tower. At that moment, I remember staring at the radio once again. And again, I was struck with utter disbelief. But this time I knew it hadn't been an accident. We were being attacked!

I tossed the application in the back seat of the Explorer and made a mad dash back to the rent house. My wife had taken the day off from her own job hunting and was in the kitchen when I rushed into the house. She hadn't known what was happening as she didn't have the TV on. I think I frantically blurted out, "I think we've been attacked!" as I turned the TV on and parked myself on the couch. My wife sat next to me and listened to the God awful details coming from New York.

There were still people in those buildings and... My God, there were people jumping out of broken windows; they were falling to their deaths. The images were not very clear but yes it looked like people throwing themselves out of the windows because there was nothing else that could be done. Either fall to their deaths or burn to death. Not much of a choice there! And those building were too tall for many rescues, and the smoke and flames were too thick to even think of mounting one from the air.

It wasn't long until the first building came crashing to the ground.

I remember sitting there with my mouth gaped open. I also remember that I said a silent prayer. I was literately on the edge of the couch, about to fall flat on my rear-end to the floor (and I think I actually did at one point). The entire ordeal was horrific, yet I couldn't help but watch the events unfold. People covered with ash were running from the scene; an undeniable fear showed in their eyes.

When the second building came down, I remember wiping the tears from my eyes. I could not believe what I was seeing. It was surrealistic; almost like I was watching some disaster movie with awesome special effects. But it was all too real. By this time I had heard of the plane hitting the Pentagon and the other plane (Flight 93) that later crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. That flight had been heading straight for Washington D.C. and presumable the capitol building itself. The passengers became heroes for causing that plane to fail in hitting its target. God bless them all!

For three days straight, I was glued to the TV. The replays of the towers coming down filled me with dread - and hatred for those responsible for the attacks. My wife continued to sit with me on the couch during those three days. Both of us were transfixed on any new details that were trickling in on Fox, CNN, and even the networks. We channel surfed back and forth to see if we had missed any minute detail; some scrap of information that someone else had left out.We ate little during that time; we took cat naps on the couch but never went to bed during that three day period. Three days of little sleep, little food and little hope.

The world had changed!

Now, I remember hearing about how many people in the Middle East were dancing in the streets because the World Trade Center had been destroyed. They chanted 'Death to America!' and celebrated our misfortune; hailing the martyrs of Islam that took down the towers. And even in parts of the U.S. (the Detroit area mainly) there were people who celebrated the catastrophe.

My mindset at that moment was 'Kill the bastards! Kill em all!' The radical Islamic militants put a sour taste in my mouth for all things Muslim with their heinous acts. I know you can't hold the entirety of Islam accountable for the acts of a few idiots, just like you can't hold Christianity accountable for the likes of the KKK and Timothy McVeigh. But it took everything inside of me to come to that conclusion.

And another memory still echoes in my head. I remember President George W. Bush standing in New York with the firefighters and rescue personnel saying that 'soon the ones responsible would hear from all of us.' The country united as one nation and for a brief moment in time. We had focused on something that meant more to us than politics. America was going to war! And so we did. Saddam Hussein was hunted down, captured and put to death. Many good soldiers have died during the War on Terror, but they all gave their lives to protect us against another homeland attack.

And life went on in America. Only now we live in the 'New Normal.' People began going on about their lives like they always did. But the unity that we briefly had on 9/11 began fading into a dim memory. Our focus was altered, and our loyalties began to divide once again.

Fast forward nine years:

Today, we still have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting against the Taliban, Al Qaeda, and other militant groups that wish to destroy both Israel and America. Although the major conflict in Iraq is over, there are still 50,000 troops stationed over there. It's not over yet!

Back home, we elected a new president. And the new president and his administration seem to care little about people like me; those of us that still feel the rawness of the wounds inflicted upon us by the Islamic extremists on 9/11. The new president and administration are more worried about offending Muslims and far too worried about political correctness to even call the War on Terror a War on Terror! And they would allow a mosque to be built near Ground Zero when they know that it will cause more pain in the families and friends that lost loved ones on 9/11.

They are more concerned about offending Islam than offending the feelings of those people that were victimized by a bunch of lunatics zealots who have perverted the religion. And they are intolerant of those of us that simply wish that the Muslims would build their mosque a couple of blocks further away. They look at people like me as racists; for being intolerant of Muslims, all the while they are being intolerant of our point of view.

The 'New Normal' rolls onward.

Something tells me that the Victory Mosque will be built and Radical Islam will have succeeded in slapping every American in our collective faces; all the while laughing in them for our choosing arrogant, ignorant, and politically correct leaders.

Yes, a great deal has changed since 9/11/2001. I didn't get the job at the hospital. I'm no longer married, and I no longer live in Texas. Life has moved on, but regardless of all of the changes that has occurred in nine years, one thing in my life has remained constant - I have never forgotten 9/11... And I never will.

All of us need to remember where we were and what we were doing on that fateful day. 9/11 was our Pearl Harbor! It was our 'day that will go down in infamy!' And it has forever changed this nation. We lost our innocence on 9/11. We have since had to grow up fast!

And we also need to pass this on to our posterity. Tell the children of that fateful day and encourage them to keep the memory alive in their generation, and all of the future generations. Never allow that day to fade into the dustbin of history.

Never forget those souls that died on that day, or those in the Armed Forces that have died since, protecting this nation from another attack. And never forget what the terrorists were wanting to do to America; because they are still plotting and planning more and more attacks against us.

The War on Terror will never truly end until every single terrorist is dead! We should continue our desire to rid the world of bastards like those that committed mass murder against America. If we ever give up that fight, then the towers fell for nothing and those that died on 9/11, and the those that have since died fighting the War on Terror will have done so in vain!

And remember: no amount of political correctness will defeat the enemy!

9/11/2001 - NEVER FORGET!

But that's just my opinion, I could be right!

Just when you thought politics couldn't get any stranger...

Barely a week after conceding the GOP primary, U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski is still considering a run for the U.S. Senate, saying she's not a quitter and is "still in this game."

Ms. Murkowski told The AP (Associated Press) on Tuesday that she's been 'inundated with calls and e-mails from supporters, asking her not to leave the race.' She also said that she's been 'humbled and is listening -- and weighing her options.'

She also pointed out that if this was "all about Lisa, certainly the easy thing for me to do would be to figure out what my next opportunity would be with my family and just settle into a nice job. But what I'm looking at is my state and the future of my state for my kids. So, I have not made that determination that I'm going to give up. I'm not a quitter, never have been. And I'm still in this game."

She then, on Tuesday, met briefly with the Libertarian candidate, David Haase after friends of hers (without her direction, supposedly) approached his party, asking if they would consider a Murkowski candidacy. She said that she had an interesting discussion with Haase. But she also pointed out that she's not interested in changing her "political stripes."

In other words, she's still a progressive!

Warning! Rant Alert! Warning! Rant Alert!

Now, from my point of view, the 'Not a quitter' comment was a subtle dig at Sarah Palin, who resigned the governorship after a barrage of lawsuits against her threatened to cost the taxpayers of Alaska millions of dollars, and also personal bankruptcy. Ms. Murkowski, who obviously does not like Sarah Palin, sounded like any other progressive using the subtle dig toward the former governor.

Let's face it - Lisa Murkowski has a cushy job, and she's going to try to keep it, regardless of how her fellow Alaskans, or anyone else happens to feel about it. She's in it for the money and the power; and also to try to rub it in the face of Sarah Palin that the Murkowski dynasty will continue come hell or high water!

And that's the biggest problem with politics in this country. The privileged few reigning supreme over the 'little people.' The elitist attitudes that keep them feeling superior over us 'lesser humans' How dare we vote against her; how dare anyone think that she will give up her power without a fight!

A piece of advice to Ms. Murkowski - You are only going to embarrass yourself in the long run. Joe Miller won the primary! And if you decide to run as a Libertarian, Independent or write-in candidate, your only going to hurt the people of Alaska, not help them. You have proven how unworthy you are to hold the position by a vote of your peers. They voted you OUT! They voted for Joe Miller because you are a RINO. And you cannot stand the thought that Sarah Palin helped Joe Miller win the primary. The people of Alaska have spoken. They want to oust you from your cushy position like Sarah Palin did your father. You are a loser! Deal with it! If you really want to help the people of Alaska you should start by moving to Canada!

WHEW! I feel better now.

Now back to our story. Lisa Murkowski is showing her true colors... That of a Progressive who thinks that the peoples voice is of little concern. And that her power should not be yielded to those lowly mortals that dare take a stand against her.

I do hope that the Libertarians deny her a spot on their ticket, and that when she does add herself as a 'write-in' candidate, that she fails miserably. Maybe then she will fade into history and the Murkowski dynasty will end. And hopefully the Progressive Movement in America will end as well.

But that's just my opinion, I could be right!

One Mans Opinion Sept. 7, 2010
By Dewaine Shoulders

I will begin this article by paraphrasing Ronald Reagan: 'Well, there they go again!'

This time around in the media assault on Sarah Palin, the good folks at ABC (Anti-American Barack Channel)seem to be trying to link several events planned for 9/11 with Mrs. Palin and Glenn Beck.

In a report featured on Good Morning America, Dan Harris says, "It is but a preview of the anger we'll be seeing on the upcoming ninth anniversary of 9/11, now just five days away, which will include an event in Alaska featuring Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, a protest at Ground Zero and a Quran-burning ceremony at a church in Florida."

Good Morning America showed the clip of anti-mosque marchers in New York, and the planned Quran burning by Pastor Terry Jones and his 50 member Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, FL, but began with a quick snippet of Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin's 9/11 event at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage, AK. The way it was presented made one believe that the three were somehow linked together.

Now, knowing the good liberal folks at Good Morning America, I can believe that this was presented in such way that the progressive faithful will link the three together and somehow blame Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin for both the anti-mosque protesters and the Quran burning (they may even blame Bush for it somehow). Why, you ask? Because we all know how desperate they are to destroy both Beck and Palin in any way possible.

This is just another subtle way that the Mainstream (Lamestream/Legacy) Media is touting the virtues of the Progressives (see Socialists) and slamming anything conservative.

Having said that, I think the anti-mosque protests are fine, considering how many goofy protests from the left have taken place over the years. I have no problem with a mosque being built, but I do have a problem with the symbolism attached to it by being built so close to Ground Zero. It looks more and more like a Victory Mosque to me.

I do have a problem with burning the Quran. But the 1st Amendment plays into this issue. And besides, who am I to judge the pastor and his flock. If they wish to burn the Quran, they shouldn't complain when the Muslims decide to burn Bibles. I'm sure there are better ways to protest Radical Islam than burning the Islamic holy book.

But back to the issue at hand... When the media links Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck with the protesters and Quran-burners, it seems that the propaganda machine at ABC (and I'm sure elsewhere in the MSM) are out to discredit Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck as fear/hatemongers.

What else is new?

The continued lies of the left and the MSM are just another reason to smile and be of good cheer. Why? Because Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are two great American Patriots and are leading the way toward a resurgence of conservative ideas and principles that have long been missing in Washington D.C.

And the leftist media knows this and they are afraid of losing their clout. When the new media (the Internet) can report stories faster and far more balanced than all of the leftist media combined, you know they have to be afraid. No wonder all of the networks and most all of the cable news outlets have lost market share and shed jobs... No one but the party faithful believes them anymore. Only Fox news has grown in the ratings and beats all of the networks news divisions and the cable news outlets night after night. And that makes them afraid too! The liberal media moguls are afraid for their jobs, their money being gone, and their viewership vanishing. You would think that maybe they would catch a clue, but they can't. They are too deep in the progressives back pockets to see the obvious.

That the public no longer needs them and their biased reporting.

And they and most definitely afraid of what both Beck and Palin represent...

Freedom of choice!

So, I say we send a message to the leftist news networks, and the rest of Progressive cable news channels. Don't watch them at all! They can detect from your cable boxes and satellite boxes who is watching and who isn't. And if people simply tune them out, pretty soon they will either begin being fair and balanced and stop trying to destroy patriots like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, or go the way of the Dodo.

But that's just my opinion, I could be right!

This is a collection of some of my favorite emails and other goodies.

Stupid is, as stupid does

As any American knows, we place our right hand over our heart when we recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

And for anyone who thinks this may be a mirror-image picture, please note the wedding rings on the ring fingers of their LEFT HANDS and the RIGHT side of the Messiah’s suit coat where the buttons are.

These two are so clueless they can't possibly be Americans!

Need I say more?

Very nice, don't you agree?

Three people that have no soul, no heart nor a clue!

Hopefully... One Day Soon!

Nuff said!

One Mans Opinion
By Dewaine Shoulders
9/3/10

Well, it's Labor Day weekend. Traditionally it's the end of summer and the beginning of football season for many; but this year it's a little different. This year, Labor Day will mark the end of Recovery Summer (an oxymoron from our friends in the White House) and the beginning of Mid-term election season.

Between now and November, there will be political ads in every newspaper and on TV and radio, and also on the 'new media' venue called the Internet. These ads will try to paint the candidates in a good light and at the same time sling mud in their opponents faces. Typical political fare for those of us that follow such things.

But this year, unlike campaigns of old, there will be one common denominator that differs from other campaigns within my lifetime... And that common denominator is Sarah Palin.

Those candidates that have her endorsement will be the privileged few to have the backing of a political powerhouse. Now, there will be those that are backed by the president, of course. And we all know that many of the democratic candidates have already tried to distance themselves from the president, fearing that their voters may be turned off by the backing (and that they actually agree with his policies). That's nothing new, but this time around there's much more at stake than losing a few votes here and there.

The democrats are afraid that they will be ousted because of how they have voted (along party lines and with the president on his failed domestic policy) and their failures to create jobs in this terrible economy.

The so-called Stimulus Bill that promised to keep unemployment under 8.5% ended up spending more money on pork projects than trying to create jobs. And unemployment is well above 9%, and in many places it's over 10%. Small businesses are hurting, and too many people are feeling the pain from this economy, as well. You are either lucky enough to have a job, or unfortunate enough to know more than a few of your neighbors that are without one.

And we can thank the democrats for this, especially Barney Frank. He said that Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac were in great shape... Right before the housing bubble burst. And we can thank people like Chris Dodd, Nancy Pelosi, Dirty Harry Reid and the entire Hee Haw Gang up in D.C. for the mess we now have in America. They were the ones that drove the car over the proverbial cliff; drunk off of their own power and not seeing what was ahead... Economic Disaster!

Or was this their plan all along... To drive us into the abyss as to force us all into the Brave New World of Socialism? It sure seems like it to me.

But now, we have someone fighting back against the socialist-loving politicians. Enter Sarah Palin - A woman that the left smears even though she is no longer in politics. The powers that be on the left are afraid of her, and for good reason. She is the voice of the people. All of us that are trying to make a living, pay our bills and hope that we still have a job next week. Sarah Palin is speaking for the everyman and woman out there (though some still do not heed the call). And she is trying to endorse candidates that believe in following the Constitution; the Law of the Land that the democrats conveniently overlook at every turn.

But it's not just Democrats that do this, as many on the Republican side of the aisle also tend to forget about the Constitution. They are called Progressives. And the Progressives in the Democrat and Republican Parties have led this country down the road to ruin. Soon, if left unchecked, the Progressives will sign over the sovereignty of The United States to the U.N. or God knows who else, leaving them rich and sitting in the positions they currently have, leaving the rest of us in poverty and beholding to the elites that would own the country.

Sarah Palin represents a fundamental shift in their power bases. She is a defender of freedom. She is Wonder Woman for the 21st Century (sans the fancy Super-hero outfit and snazzy golden lariat). She stands for Truth, Justice and the American Way, and she scares the bejesus out of the Progressives. Thus, that's why they continue to attack her good name and reputation. They try to concoct lies and keep repeating them, in hopes that someone will believe the lies, where it then becomes a truth. And that is the Socialistic game plan the Progressives have been playing since Sarah Palin was introduced to the masses during the '08 presidential campaign.

So, here we are, in 2010 - heading into Fall, where we will be voting in the mid-terms for candidates that will no doubt be slinging the mud in furious fashion. But remember one thing: If a Sarah Palin-backed candidate wins, that's one less Progressive/Socialist in power. And that will mean one less voice for them to shout at us that we are old-fashioned, bigots, homophobes, xenophobe, Islamaphobes, etc.

Of course, the Mainstream Media, or the 'Legacy Media' as posed by a friend, will continue to spout the DNC party line, no matter what. And they will continue to blast Sarah Palin because they fear her, too.

Not what she will do TO America, but what she will do FOR America. And that will be get us back on the path of fiscal responsibility; smaller, more responsible government and lower taxation for all.

And the lamestream media will be shown for what it is... Elitists who have been trying to brainwash us all for many years. Their yellow journalism will finally backfire, leaving many of them in the unemployment lines (Hopefully).

This is an important mid-term election cycle. There is too much at stake here to sit home and not vote. Every vote counts, and everyone should voice their concerns as to the future of America. Do we continue on the path of ever-increasing government control of our lives, or do we choose to go back to those thrilling days of yesteryear when we had the freedom to choose our own destinies?

Sarah Palin represents Change we can truly believe in. A change from the current borderline-dictatorship to the return of sanity in Washington D.C.

But that's just my opinion, I could be right!

One Mans Opinion
By Dewaine Shoulders
9/1/2010

The recent hit-piece in Vanity Fair - Sarah Palin the Sound and the Fury by Michael Joseph Gross – reminds me of a jealous schoolgirl who’s ragging on a fellow student, just because they are more popular. The tone of the article is meant to display Sarah Palin in a bad light.

Gomer Pyle would have said, “Surprise, surprise, surprise!”

Mr. Gross and Vanity Fair are trying to sell the readers on the fact that Sarah Palin is only ‘in it for the money’ and that she’s lying to her Tea Party faithful. Mr. Gross seems to exude a jealousy of both her popularity and the money she has made since leaving the governorship of Alaska (thanks to the steady stream of frivolous lawsuits from the left that threatened to cost Alaska tens of millions of dollars and personally bankrupt the Palin family in the process).

The truth be known, the author of this pseudo-article is a person whose bias is blatantly obvious. He dislikes Sarah Palin and, by extension, anyone who happens to like her. Having read the hit-piece, I came away with the feeling that he doesn’t like what she stands for, or that she has the ability to reach out to people on a level not seen since Ronald Reagan (I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Sarah Palin is this generations Ronald Reagan!).

Sarah Palin connects with people, whereas the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. has split the country into several pieces. Sarah Palin is extremely popular among the Tea Party faithful (who dislike the failed policies of the current administration), and who has made money the old-fashioned way... She’s earned it!

With his own words, his bias and distaste for Sarah Palin shows through like that jealous schoolgirl...

‘With few exceptions—mostly Palin antagonists in journalism and politics whose beefs with her have long been out in the open—virtually no one who knows Palin well is willing to talk about her on the record, whether because they are loyal and want to protect her (a small and shrinking number), or because they expect her prominence to grow and intend to keep their options open, or because they fear she will exact revenge, as she has been known to do.’

Here, he’s trying to put into the minds of her followers (and those that might) that she is a bitter, hateful woman, full of the trumped-up ‘elitists’ attitudes that she claims to be against. Call it bait and switch or smoke and mirrors, Mr. Gross is doing what the Lamestream Media has been doing since 2008, and that’s playing the ‘Let’s Destroy Sarah Palin Game!’ These so-called informational articles are designed to make Sarah Palin look like a thief, a con-artist and a person out to destroy America, one Tea Bagger at a time.

But what Mr. Gross doesn’t tell you is who these anonymous people are. The ones that are ‘whispering the truth about Sarah Palin.’

‘...speaking with whomever I could induce to talk under whatever conditions of anonymity they imposed—political strategists, longtime Palin friends and political associates, hotel staff, shopkeepers and hairstylists, and high-school friends of the Palin children. There’s a long and detailed version of what they had to say, but there’s also a short and simple one: anywhere you peel back the skin of Sarah Palin’s life, a sad and moldering strangeness lies beneath.’

So, where are your sources, Mr. Gross? Who is saying what? And why are they wishing to remain anonymous? Or could it be that you made it all up so your readers could see how you can also play the ‘Let’s Destroy Sarah Palin Game!’ Your bias is showing like the midriff of a teenage girl showing off her new navel ring. It’s more than obvious what you’re trying to do here, and yet trying to sound, ahem, objective. Objectivity and liberalism go together like rot-gut whiskey at a debutant ball. And from the tone of Mr. Gross’ article, he’s drank way too much; slurring Sarah Palin like she was an ex-girlfriend who broke-up with him for the high school quarterback. I do believe Mr. Gross (like most liberals) is jealous of Sarah Palin in just that way.

They want their own Sarah Palin... But they want an ‘anti-Sarah Palin.’ And if they can’t have that, then they will continue to try to destroy her!

The faithful readers of Vanity Fair, with a reported circulation of 1.1 million, obviously are drooling over this article. But, revenues to liberal magazines and newspapers have dropped, just like their readership. So, hate doesn’t sell as well as it used to. And this hit-piece is another example of their hatred of Conservative Values and Sarah Palin herself. And its an example of why the left is not so much afraid that Sarah Palin will destroy America, but the fear that she will destroy the Socialist Utopia that they are trying to create in America!

I said that Mr. Gross sounded like a jealous schoolgirl, but the more I think about it, jealous schoolgirls have more intellectual integrity. Michael Joseph Gross doesn’t come across as someone that has much integrity; he just seems to have an unquenchable thirst to show his elitist friends that anyone that believes in Sarah Palin are being fooled. But the truth be known, the fools are the ones that discount the Sarah Palin Effect.

It's the liberals that will be getting the hit come November!

But that’s just my opinion, I could be right!
