E-Mailgate?

Okay, here it is. The infamous Todd Palin email :

WARNING: Email contains foul language and horrific grammar!

Aside for a reference to the DNC mascot, I cannot see any offensive language. Email grammar aside, I can't see what the brouhaha is in regards to this email. Now, considering how Todd and Sarah were supposed to be yelling and screaming at one another a few weeks back, would Todd Palin be so concerned about asking Joe Miller a question like, 'Do you think she's presidential material?' regarding Sarah Palin's potential run for the Oval Office?

Also, supposedly Todd and Joe are miffed at one another? Would Todd waste a perfectly good email on Joe Miller IF he were mad at him. Would Joe respond is he was mad at Todd?

These and other questions will be answered on our next episode of As The Email Turns.

Meanwhile, according to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner:

Alaska Senate hopeful Joe Miller said Wednesday that Sarah Palin is qualified to be president based on the requirement spelled out in the Constitution, but stopped short of endorsing such a run in 2012.

Miller said it's not up to him to say whether Palin, a friend who backed him in his current race, will run. He said the whole issue was a "sideline" to what's happening in Alaska and an effort to distract from the Senate race.

When further pressed on his thoughts on Palin, he said: "She's done phenomenal things for this country. There's no question about that. She's elevated the debate."

He also credited her for playing a role in his race.

This whole issue was brought up when an Alaskan anti-Palin blogger called Mudflats (I actually like the name Mudflaps better) obtained the e-mail Todd Palin sent to an official with Sarah Palin's political action committee (SarahPAC), Joe Miller and Palin and Miller's attorney.

Well, fear not, faithful readers, Todd Palin responded to the Mudflats leaked email. Here's the response, in a statement released to THE WEEKLY STANDARD:

My family has worked hard in supporting Joe Miller, so when I heard he'd said something less than supportive of my wife's efforts, I responded. But it turns out we'd gotten our wires crossed and Joe hadn't said anything like what I'd been told. So there's no story here except the fact that the press put our personal emails online again, and again couldn't even be bothered to conceal our email addresses or take any steps to protect our privacy.

Okay, this is much ado about nothing. This was a media feeding frenzy based upon an email that somehow managed to be leaked. Big whoop! The worst thing I happened to see in the email was one line: Put yourself in her shoe's Joe for one day.

Grammatically speaking, the line should have read: 'Joe, try to put yourself in her shoes for one day' or 'Try to put yourself in her shoes for one day, Joe."

Obviously Todd wasn't worried about good grammar or good taste (Remember that old ad?). Todd was concerned about how Miller viewed Sarah Palin, and her chances to become president. And if Miller would support her if she did run.

And that is a valid question.

Whether she will run or not is yet to be decided (although my money is on YES!). She obviously has thrown a hint or two out there already, so that may be a suckers bet. The real question is: Will those that have benefited from her endorsing their candidacy return the favor?

Two words: You betcha!

But that's just my opinion, I could be right!
